Neurological Dry Needling for Pain Management & Sports Rehabilitation (Foundation course) (3-day) develops the knowledge, safety and clinical skills required to effectively assess and deliver dry needling treatment to painful neuromuscular conditions. Â This course teaches participants to treat the body locally, segmentally, and systemically; we do not divide the body up into upper and lower halves requiring you to take 2 courses before being able to need the entire body. Our system is built on the foundation of Neurological Dry Needling that focuses on peri-neural and peri-vascular needling to normalize inflammation (neurogenic), microcirculation, and reduce soft tissue guarding. Our peripheral nerve mapping model is a logical and systemic process that elevates the clinical application of dry needling by needling the system not just the muscles.Â
Various needling techniques are practiced including the use of electrical nerve stimulation to provide participants with a variety of safe and effective treatment options.  Â
The purpose of the Neurologic Dry Needling for Pain Management and Sports Rehabilitation Course is to obtain knowledge and clinical skills necessary to diagnose and treat soft tissue pain and dysfunction.  This 3-day applied-learning course combines interactive lectures and practical hands-on labs. Students participate in several practical sessions, which are intended to provide feedback to students regarding their comprehension of the key concepts and needling techniques. These practical lab sessions enable students to critically self-evaluate if additional instruction or self- study is needed for clinical competency.
The Neurologic Dry Needling for Pain Management and Sport Rehabilitation course covers:
Friday | 7:30 Registration – Course begins at 8:00 am to 6:00pm (lunch 12:00 – 1:00) |

WHEN NEW COURSE LOCATIONS LAUNCH!
Correctly identify and apply proper precautions related to blood borne pathogens related to the clinical practice of dry needling therapy from the course pre-reading.
Independently identify and apply dry needling to each of the three types of trigger points (homeostatic, paravertebral and symptomatic) in a given case study.
Integrate the physiological mechanisms of needling when developing a treatment plan for a given musculoskeletal condition.
Discuss the prevention and management of adverse responses to dry needling based on OSHA requirements with 100% accuracy during case study.
Independently apply dry needling treatment safely into musculoskeletal neuro-trigger points during lab sessions.
Independently evaluate and treat soft tissue and neurogenic dysfunctions relating to a given neuromusculoskeletal condition
Correctly defend the IDN system for treatment of musculoskeletal pain based on the unique neurology and physiology of neuro-trigger points.
Independently integrate the IDN system into the participant’s physical therapy practice in relation to current clinical guidelines.
The course is structured around practical hands-on clinical training in a supervised and supportive environment.
Instructors encourage active participation through digital media and group discussions.
With video support will begin each new section.
Improving the participants understanding and appreciation for the neurological and anatomical structures.
Instructor demonstration of the techniques is enhanced with video technology - always providing you the best seat in the house!
Interactive lab sessions will follow where the participants practice and discuss the techniques and concepts with each other and with the instructor.
After each interactive lab section  there is an instructor debrief to provide feedback and answer any remaining questions.
This course was very applicable to my clinical practice as an ATC. Teaching the systemic ideology makes it easier for the individual clinician to create appropriate plans of care for each patient.
Systemic ideology makes it easier CAROLYN PADALINO, PTVery carefully laid out and thoughtfully planned course. Thorough and comprehensive. I fell much more confident to use as a treatment and am very glad I took this course!
Thoughtfully planned course EMILY DAY, PTThis course opened my eyes to ways to better influence the nervous system. I am confident that I will be able to better serve my patients with the new information and skills I have acquired.
Better influence the nervous system KIMBERLY LESCHBER, PTI left this course feeling so much more knowledgeable and comfortable about neuro anatomy. Frank was very knowledge able and answered all your questions with a perfect mixture of research, clinical reasoning, and experience.
Perfect mixture of research, clinical reasoning, and experience. MADDISON COOK, PTThis course was very applicable to my clinical practice as an ATC. Teaching the systemic ideology makes it easier for the individual clinician to create appropriate plans of care for each patient.
Systemic ideology makes it easier CAROLYN PADALINO, PTSonya was an excellent instructor. Very engaging, knowledgeable and attentive. I enjoyed the way this course was structured with the strong emphasis on the nervous system. I found the timing / structure of the labs to be very effective in aiding my comfort and competence with the new skill.
Very effective in aiding my comfort and competence ERIN ANDERSPON, PTThe IDN foundation course was an amazing course to get started in dry needling. I love that you leave with a foundation in the whole body and the explanation of the anatomy and neurology to see the big picture, not just learn a dry needling technique.
You leave with a foundation in the whole body JENNIFER DESANTIS, PT
IDN blew my other trigger point dry needling courses out of the water. Dr. Frank provides superior evidence-based knowledge with a whole-body approach and comprehensive understanding of the body. IDN helps bridge ortho, neuro and manual therapies for superior outcomes. I feel 100% confided with needling and whole-body integration after this course.
