Diagnostic Ultrasound for The Assessment & Dry Needling Treatment of Tendinopathy is a 2-day, 95% hands-on-training course. In this advanced level course, you will master the 5 P’s system of diagnostic US assessment and treatment to confidently identify normal anatomy to facilitate clinical decision-making. Ultrasound guided dry needling treatment is focused on utilizing percutaneous needle tenotomy (PNT) for all the shoulder tendon insertions and other common sites of tendinopathy of the upper and lower extremity such as lateral elbow, achilles tendon insertion, patella tendon, quadriceps tendon insertion, gluteus medius and minimus insertions. Research of PNT on commonly visualized tendon dysfunction supports that dry needling, in the symptomatic areas, can yield long-term benefits that rival wet needling procedures i.e. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. US promotes patient engagement by providing real-time visuals demonstrating the anatomical condition of their joints and tendons.
[Prerequisite-prior DN training/experience is required. Your training can be with a different continuing education provider, you do not need to be trained specifically by  IDN]
The purpose of the Diagnostic Ultrasound for The Assessment & Dry Needling Treatment of Tendinopathy is to obtain the knowledge and psychomotor skills necessary to visualize joints, muscles and tendons to safely and effectively deliver dry needling treatment.
This 2-day applied-learning course combines live instructor demonstrations with practical hands-on labs. Students participate in small groups of 2 -3 clinicans working together to obtain reliable and reproducible US images that are evaluated by the instructor with individual feedback provided. Supervised lab sessions are performed to safely and effectively visualize, and deliver dry needle treatment to pathologic tendons and other soft tissue structures.

WHEN NEW COURSE LOCATIONS LAUNCH!
I have been to many continuing education courses and this course with Steve is one of the best I have attended. Steve is very knowledgeable and the course covered a ton of clinical material.
Course covered a ton of clinical material ERIK HOLMES, PTGreat course with very relevant clinical application. Being able to view, treat and diagnose is a game changer.
Game changer DAN FLEURY, PTGreat course, great instructor and a great new tool to add to the tool box. Very excited to use in the clinic.
Great course, great instructor KATE SERODIO, PTDemonstrate the application of the 5 P’s of MSK ultrasound in a given body part in labs and during the practical examination.
The course is structured around practical hands-on clinical training in a supervised and supportive environment.
PowerPoint presentations supporting proper technique and current research.
Improve the participants understanding and appreciation for the anatomical structures of what is normal.
Always providing you the best seat in the house!
Small group practice of MSK ultrasound imaging skills for specific structures in the upper and lower extremities
Implement and practice utilizing different handling techniques of the transducer to optimize the MSK ultrasound image.
The pre-course handout was very helpful. There was plenty of time to really dive deep into assessing and then needling. Steve is extremely knowledgeable and there was enough lab time to really practice and learn the technique.
Enough lab time to really practice KATHERINE WELDON, PT
