I have always been drawn to the world of health and fitness. As an athlete I learned the importance of good health and that when it is impaired by injury or pain, returning to good health becomes the highest priority. I completed my graduate degree in physical therapy at Emory University. Their program, ranked in the top five in the nation, gave me a strong foundation and base of knowledge. I then pursued advanced training in osteopathic manual therapy at Michigan State University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine. This exceptional training was invaluable in allowing me to achieve outstanding results with patients who had been to other therapists without success.
I began my career working as part of a large healthcare organization, where I learned two valuable lessons. The first was that I have a passion for the work I do and a drive to do it at the highest level. In 13 years of practice I have sought out coursework and training that puts me at the forefront of knowledge and skill in physical therapy. The second lesson I learned was that people deserve a better option than the way a majority of practices deliver physical therapy. Too many practices do not allocate the time and staff needed to treat people as they should be treated. In August 2002, I opened my first practice in McLean, VA based on providing the level of care that people deserve and using my unique combination of treatment skills. The overwhelming success of the clinic reflected the desire people have for results driven one-on-one patient focused care. In five years we grew to become known as being at the forefront of PT practices in the Washington, DC area. During this time, I treated patients with orthopedic injuries at all levels of activity including elderly patients, high school athletes, professional athletes of the NFL and MLB, Olympic athletes and everyone in between.
My greatest satisfaction in building my practice was knowing that we were doing things the right way for our patients. Our methods reflected our respect for our patients and concern for their health. In 2007 my family and I made the decision to sell my interest in the practice and move to Brentwood, TN to be closer to family. Now my goal is to bring an even greater level of care to this area.
