Occupational Therapist
Mary Barnes has been an Occupational Therapist and a Certified Hand Therapist for over 30 years. In addition to clinical experience, she has taught hand therapy and orthotics courses for Cross Country Education and currently teaches for the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT). She is the Lead for ASHT’s Education on Tour. She has also presented at the ASHT Annual conference and the TnOTA annual conference. She has received numerous service awards from ASHT and TnOTA. She is recipient of the 2020 Vargas Grant for international mission by the American Association for Surgery of the Hand. She is the former Chairman of the Tennessee Board of Occupational and Physical Therapy Examiners. She served on the AOTPAC Board of Directors and Chairman of the TnOTA Legislative Committee. She is currently the Continuing Education Chair for TnOTA.
