Dry Needling considerations for Craniocervical conditions

COURSE INFORMATION

Description

Dry Needling Considerations in Cranio-Cervical conditions is an advanced level virtual synchronous lecture-based training program designed for clinicians that treat head and neck conditions and want to have a deeper understanding of how they can integrate dry needling treatment. This lecture-based course will provide the knowledge and understanding on conditions such as concussions, migraines, TMD, otological symptoms and cervicogenic headaches/dizziness. Details of the musculoskeletal and neuroanatomical relationships, both peripheral and central, that exist between the regions will be discussed. The role of inflammation (neurogenic) in the production of pain and dysfunction is described. Peri-neural and neurologic dry needling techniques for both peripheral and cranial nerves will be discussed. This course focuses on improving clinical decision-making and outcomes in this challenging patient population.

Purpose

The purpose of the Dry Needling Considerations in Cranio-Cervical conditions course is to obtain the knowledge necessary to recognize neurologic patterns to assist in the diagnosis and development of a treatment plan.

Audience

This course is designed for licensed healthcare professionals, PT’s, DC’s, M.D.’s, D.O.’s. PA’s, ATC’s and CNP’s that specialize in treating neuro-musculoskeletal pain in the cranial, facial and cervical regions.

Learning Objectives

By the conclusion of this lecture-based course, the participant will be to:

  1. Integrate the physiological mechanisms of dry needling when developing a treatment plan for a given craniocervical condition.
  2. Independently identify a minimum of three peripheral cranio-cervical neuro-trigger points in a given case study.
  3. By the conclusion of the course the participant will be able to correctly defend the IDN system for treatment of craniocervical conditions based on the unique neurology and physiology of neuro-trigger points.
  4. At the conclusion of the course the participant will be able to identify different types of craniocervical conditions and treatment options for a given case study.
Approved CEU's
