The purpose of the Diagnostic Ultrasound and Percutaneous Tenotomy Foundations course is to develop the knowledge necessary to recognize tendinopathy in its early stages utilizing the technology of MSK ultrasound.  The participants will be equipped with the research necessary to support the therapeutic use of dry needling for treating tendinopathies. These foundational concepts are necessary for successfully entering the live “Diagnostic Ultrasound Course”.  The students will be provided an interactive virtual synchronous format in which to develop this knowledge base.

This course is designed for licensed healthcare professionals, PT’s, DC’s, M.D.’s, D.O.’s. PA’s, ATC’s and CNP’s that specialize in treating musculoskeletal pain and want to improve their treatment outcomes. 

1. Identify and distinguish the pathophysiology of tendinopathy in a given image.
2. Distinguish between tendinitis and tendinosis to identify the risk factors and triggers that lead to tendinopathy.
3. Distinguish and describe the differences between linear and curvilear ultrasound technology and clinical relevance of each.
4. Integrate the primary research of ultrasound guided tenotomy as a therapeutic intervention when developing a plan of care.

This course has been approved for 3 academic/theory CEU’s in New Jersey.
