Good afternoon!

I have a patient that I am treating post-MVA with a typical whiplash presentation. She has been progressing very slowly with manual work and I thought TDN would be appropriate to address her reports of persistent headaches and muscle tightness. However, she has a diagnosis of sarcoidosis. She notes that her sarcoidosis impacts her lungs, nerves, and skin. Because it impacts her skin, I was wondering if she would be appropriate for this intervention? My understanding would be likely not due to the inflammatory process associated with sarcoidosis. I wanted to reach out, nonetheless, and see what you all thought!

Thank you and have a wonderful week.

I have not seen anyone with this condition, but looking at the limited treatment references I could find, acupuncture seems to be a common treatment. I would recommend a lighter first treatment to see how she responds.
