For those of you practicing dry needling in which your state is “silent” on the topic, do you share this with your patients? Meaning, do you get consent from a patient after providing full disclosure where your state stands, or do you not feel this is necessary?

Hi Jamie,

I think that is up to you, but I personally don't think it is necessary.  Silent does not mean you cannot perform it- only if they say it is NOT in your scope of practice are you not permitted to perform DN or anything else they make that statement about.  We have many PT's in silent states that have been practicing for many years and I have never heard of them making a statement about it.
