I have a patient who I have started working with who was previously being seen for dry needling to address chronic history of peripheral neuropathy (history of chemotherapy also effecting her symptoms); her sensation is diminished but intact so I feel comfortable needling her.

When completing our first session with focus on homeostatic points, she questioned my technique as the previous therapist "would put two needles in and add electricity and leave them on for like 35-40 minutes".

I hadn't heard of completing it in this way, or the potential benefits that she seemed to receive from this (which were not long lasting, hence now seeing me in my clinic).

Any thoughts on this type of technique for neuropathy?
