I have a patient who has Hogkins Lymphoma, she also has sciatica and general low back pain.  Contraindication to needle?

Hi Jennifer!

This is a great question.  It is ok to perform dry needling on this patient, but I'd strongly encourage written consent from the oncologist. I'd also recommend limiting needles to the lower extremity homeostatic points, shorter needles overall to start, and an overall low dosage as her immune system if already fighting a systemic disease.

I hope that is helpful!
