Hi all.

I currently have two patients who would be interested in using dry needing to assist with bunion pain. Has anyone done this? What would be some recommendations for preferred spots? Thank you.

Hi Lauren,

Bunion pain is interesting because the big toe can be (deep) fibular on top, saphenous on the side and tibial underneath so that is the pathway to start with those.  I also like to take very thin needles .14 and 15mm and needle the joint capsule - if she can tolerate it- start slow but needle the capsule can have a dramatic effect.  I also use a hyper volt on the bottom on the foot for mobility at higher speed to get an analgesic effect and mobility of fluids at the same time across all the toes.  Start with that and you can move up the peripheral nerve chain as needed.
