Hi all. Was wondering if anyone has experience using DN to treat anterior subcutaneous nerve (lower thoracic intercostal nerve) entrapment. I plan to treat segmentally along the involved thoracic distribution, but wasn't sure how to approach the local symptoms, which in this case is pn in the R epigastric region and RUQ. We were taught in the foundation course how to approach lower abdominal musculature with a flat approach, so was assuming the same would be used for the upper abdominal region as well? Would appreciate any input! Thanks!

Hey Rachel,

Yes. Review your anatomy and look for where the nerve emerges from the muscle. You can needle at an oblique angle to a maximum depth of 1 inch. If they have a very thin abdominal wall, you can modify to less that an inch. Good thought process!
