Mike Mulcahey is in his twenty sixth year of being a certified athletic trainer and eleventh year as a member of the University of Dayton's Sports Medicine staff. He became an athletic trainer in 1996 and started as a high school athletic trainer at Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mulcahey then moved on to Middletown Regional Hospital working in the Sport and Spine Center as well as Middletown High School before moving to the division one collegiate setting at Xavier University. He served as an athletic trainer at Xavier from 1999-2013 in a variety of roles but primarily responsible for the healthcare of the men's basketball, baseball, and volleyball programs. Mike was also the clinical coordinator from 2010-2013 in the Athletic Training Undergraduate Education Program. Currently his career has taken him to the University of Dayton where he is the athletic trainer for the men's basketball program. Mike has been on numerous boards and committee at the local, state and national levels as well as been active in promoting interprofessional education amongst healthcare professionals. He served as the president of the Greater Cincinnati Athletic Trainers' Association and served as the Southwest District Representative on the Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association Executive Board.
