Shani is a licensed physical therapist in Wisconsin and Minnesota with over 33 years clinical experience. She is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist and an Associate Professor in a DPT program. Her treatment and instruction focus specializes in complex musculo-skeletal conditions and pelvic health across the lifespan.
Shani has continued to focus on improving her training as a manual therapist to provide quality, skilled physical therapy. Her scope of practice includes: integrative dry needling, advanced manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-ed, kinesio taping, sports injury and prevention, and pelvic health for males and females. She has been a part of the TA team for Herman and Wallace male pelvic health course, a manuscript review for the Academy of Pelvic Health, and has performed research in the lumbo-pelvic-hip region. Shani is also working on a research project with Mark Hernandez with IDN involving the application and impact of local percussion therapy on strength and range of motion.
In 2015 Shani began her dry needling journey with Dr. Frank Gargano of the Integrative Dry Needling Institute, which allowed her to introduce dry needling into her clinical and educational practice. She met Mark Hernandez of the Integrative Dry Needling Institute in 2021 at the Advanced Clinical Integration of the Pelvis, Lumbar, Hips, & Abdomen. Shani joined the Integrative Dry Needling Team in 2023 and will be teaching the Foundations course and Advanced Clinical Integration of the Pelvis, Lumbar, Hips, & Abdomen.
