Patient elected to have non-surgical approach and requested IDN at PT evaluation: any suggestions and time frame from initial injury to safely needle; any clinical pearls?
      Thx

I had a football player a few years ago I saw two days after an AC separation. I can’t remember if it was grade II OR III. We started with superficial needling around the Ac joint and the homeostatic points in that area. Progressed dosage and included cervical over time.

He did very well. Was able to play in the last couple games of the season.

          Hi James and Nick
I would approach an acute injury just as Nick did. Start with superficial needling in the area of injury , add homeostatics in the region, gradually increase dosage. Of course, this would be in the context of a full orthopedic examination and plan of care.
